My husband and I always envisioned having a business wherein we would cater to kids. Our vision came about when we were looking for a kids hair salon for our son’s first haircut. We did not want to take our son to an adult salon. We wanted this to be a good experience for him and for us as well.

After looking for a kids hair salon near the vicinity of Pico Rivera, which is where we reside, we were amazed to find out that the closest kids hair salon was in Pasadena, approximately a 30 mile drive. We began to research the industry, knowing nothing about the salon industry, children or parents.

This is when our “Lightning Bolt Moment” occurred. It became obvious to us that the market was ripe for a salon that would not just allow children, but would welcome them with open arms. We wanted to create a place that kids would love to visit.

Equally important, the salon needed to be staffed with the highest level of experience stylists, who enjoyed working with children and whom parents would feel comfortable entrusting their children’s hair to.

We want our gentle staff to work their magic on our little clients as well as their parents so that they can have a magical experience. This is how PELITOS was created. So many children have a hard time with haircuts and it is so wonderful to know that we are here to make a difference in your kids lives.
